Outfits

I work with someone who always seems to be wearing something purple. Purple hat, purple shirt, purple shoes, purple backpack... you name it, he's got it. I don't know where that kind of fixation comes from haha, but it got me thinking about the outfits touhou characters wear. It seems like many characters have simples outfits, only using 1 to 3 colors, and they end up getting associated with those colors - black and white witch, scarlet devil. One step further, there's Yukari, Ran, and Chen that respectively use the characters 紫, 藍, and 橙 for their names. These are literal color names: 紫 representing purple, 藍 representing indigo or blue, and 橙 representing orange.

Though I am kinda at the point where I think all the charaters are cool in their own way, I still do have some favorites of course. And when it comes to best dressed character, I think of Toyosatomimi no Miko.

Her outfit is so cool, the peach gradient top, the pinks and purples, golds and blacks. She's got swag! She has a lot of cool accessories that help her design come together really well too. Junko is a close second - I love her long flowly black robes and all the nice, bright, contrasting colors on top of it.

When it comes to unique outfits, but still well pulled off, it's gotta be clownpiece!

I mean, come on!

I also talked to some other people I knew in the community to get their input on best or most uniquely dressed characters. Here are some names that came up and my thoughts on them:

I don't think a lot about parsee, but she really does a have unique and intricate outfit. It's cool! Something you could be jealous of i guess :)

She's especially got a unique hair style and color. And I love her big boots in Touhou 10.

☯ C h i m a t a ☯

Super multicolored outfit, but pulled off well. Also the amount of letters in her name works perfectly for the ROYGBIV rainbow coloring, hmmmmm.

☯ PCB Yukari ☯

Was told that it was way better than her grandma look in Touhou 8 haha.

Her outfit has a lot of cool accessories and details. I love her big stary cape.
