Hello! Thank you for checking out my site!

My name is John. My introduction to Touhou came in college. I had always been a fan of arcade-ish type games - games I could pick up, play for round or two, then put down if needed. Games that didn't involve a much grinding. I grew up playing a lot of game like this: racing games, some sports games, and stuff like Tony Hawk and SSX. And, I had played a few bullet hell games too. So as a busy college student, I was looking for more simple games like these that wouldn't eat up too much of my time. All this lead me to Touhou.

The first Touhou game i played was Touhou 7. I had read on various forums and youtube comments that it was one of the easier games to start with and a good introduction to the series. I found myself mainly playing as Sakuya because I liked her wide shot type, and to this day, she is still probably my favorite protagonist. Though I didn't find Touhou 7 to be as easy as it seemed to be made out to be, it still hooked me!

Since then, I have played most of the main games and have really come to love this series. There is just something about the characters, music, art, settings, and gameplay that just feels magic to me. And just as inspiring as the original works are all the amazing and creative things Touhou fans have created. Spurred by them and my interactions with their creators, I have always wanted to give my own contribution to this wonderful world as well.

So that's what this site is: a place to document my interactions with this world and hopefully let some of my knowledge and love rub off on others as well to inspire them to contribute to the community too.
